We are learning to utilize the
text structures to assist us in
reading and creating
(interdisciplinary) science and
social studies texts.
We are learning to develop ideas
with our first of the six traits
of writing.


Success Criteria:

synthesize my knowledge of
adding word choice to text and utilizing
the text structure of cause and effect
by creating an original writing
that uses signal words and answers
the key questions of this category
of writing.

Fold up the bottom right corner into a triangle and write Cause and Effect on the flap.
Turn to the next page and copy down the definition, the examples, signal words, and signal questions into your notebook.

Cause is why something happened.
Effect is what happened.
(Sometimes the effect is listed first.)
