Good Day Students,

Unfortunately, I am unable to be at school today.

Even thought I am not in school, I am still writing the directions that need to be completed.

Please write the title of today's book and date on the next clean page.

This time write in your notebook the problem, three parts to the solution and the outcome.

3. Make a graphic organizer, using Google slides,insert shapes and insert lines to show the problem,
solution(3 parts),and outcome

Computers 1-6 can be borrowed from Mrs. Wood's room.

Open document called Alexander and his day at Mount Olive Middle School.

Complete your narrative about Alexander and his trip to the Mount Olive Middle School.

Once the work is completed, edit it.

Please be creative and check for capitalization and punctuation.

You can go back to the story if needed for information or details.

Good Day Class,


***You need to finish Crash, and Alexander.
If everyone needs time for From Earth to Outer Space, we will complete it on Wedensday.***

There is not homework because of the math quarterly.

It is necessary that you begin class by independently finishing your reading of Crash
and writing the paragraph that includes text evidence and your stated side of the argument.
There can be multiple positions take, please choose one and explain why you take that position.

THEN

Today you will be focusing on Voice.

This is as I have told you, what one hears from the author's words,
it is the most difficult of the six traits of writing.

Voice can be broken into 5 different pieces.

FIRST

You will need a partner.
Watch the book reading Video of Alexander and the Horrible, Terrible, No Good, Very Bad Day
Open Google Slides

Create a slide with all 5 elements of Voice: Personality, Emotions, Style, Point of View, and Experience. Each element, in words, needs to be on the slide EX. PERSONALITY,
have an image(Google picture),
and words explaining how this was shown in the book about Alexander.

SECOND

Again, this can be with your partner.
Read, From the Earth to Outer Space.
You need to type a 5 sentence paragraph about the article.

This paragraph should be typed on your second Google Slide.

The first sentence should show PERSONALITY.
The second sentences should show EMOTIONS.
The third sentence should show STYLE.
The fourth sentence should show POINT OF VIEW.
The fifth sentence should show EXPERIENCE.
The entire paragraph should be speaking about the article using VOICE.


You must also include an image.


Mrs. Matthews' Example

What were people thinking stating that there was a face,
covered in cream with angry natives on the moon, thank
goodness that we know better today. It should have been a
woman that discovered the first method to get into outer space,
but even though it was not, I believe that a sequel to this
article will be how women get themselves into space. I am glad
to know that, “Only after a long time did they ever put a person
inside a rocket and shoot him into space.” In my opinion, it is
going to take a lot of convincing and new design / testing to
convince the vast majority of the public to get into a rocket
to explore the moon, no less Mars. Space travel is something
that continues to fascinate the culture of the world, even I
was excited to visit Kennedy Space center in Florida, and the
frontier will one day be discovered.
